RDG provided tender scaffold designs for the restoration of the Grade II listed Saltburn Viaduct, a 19th-century landmark. The design ensured safe access around each pier and to the façades of the bridge parapet.
The scaffold included independent access to each pier, bridged access between the piers to reach the area beneath each archway, and a protection deck to maintain public access during the project. Due to the challenging site conditions, including varying ground profiles and a nearby watercourse, certain sections of the viaduct could not have the scaffold grounded directly. For these areas, base pads and a custom RMD bracket were designed to provide the necessary support and stability.
